I love Windows 10, its features, speed, ease of use, simplicity, stability, versatility, etc. But sometimes there are some issues, some problems that could literally make you go mad, like the erratic mouse movement.
For me one of those issues was the erratic mouse movement and lags with high processor activity -- around 100%. In these cases the cursor started jumping up and down, left and right, and I simply had to wait for this to be over. Try doing serious mouse-related work on such a computer. [node:read-more:link]
Lately I've been running out of free space on one partition, a large one actually, with total space of 800 gigabytes, but my files taking up only approximately 250 gigabytes and the free space was downsizing day by day until it reached 51 gigabytes.
Local Microsoft support wasn't of much help, blaming other software for taking up the space, again...

After upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 I stumbled upon an issue which prevented creating or joining a homegroup.
As it turns out – after a few days of digging into the matter – being unable to join or create a homegroup was due to an non-working 'Peer Networking Grouping Service'.
More specifically this service wasn't started so I tried starting it manually, but all there was was an error message: 'WIndows could not start the Peer Networking Grouping Service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.' [node:read-more:link]
Since the last update (to Filezilla 3.10.3) on Windows 8.1, the upload and download speeds were significantly lower and so therefore it was time to investigate why it took ages to transfer a few megabytes of files.
Why does it happen?
Because the new default for encryption in Filezilla is set to 'Use explicit FTP over TLS if available'. [node:read-more:link]
VMWare is a great virtualisation tool for running various operating systems and appliances without the need to physically install them on a separate hard drive or partition.

Did a clean installation of Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Can't connect to the Homegroup with other computers also running Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. My computer won't accept the password from other workgroup's computers.
It's very simple.
Just leave the current group and create a new one. Then join this new group and that's it. [node:read-more:link]
